Hi Adam, how are you? I would like to ask you for advice. I am not a professional drummer. I am an architect but I love the drums, and I try to dedicate a large part of my free time to playing. I want to improve the sound a little to make my practices more pleasant. I am thinking of two options: incorporate the YAMAHA EAD10 or buy a set of AUDIX microphones, which would also mean buying a mixer, cables, supports, etc. in addition to the mic’s. Regarding the EAD10, it seems very practical to me, and a much cheaper solution, but I'm not sure if the Hi-Hat and the rest of the cymbals achieved a good sound. I insist that I am not a professional and what I am basically looking for is to play at home with headphones but with good sound. What is your suggestion?

Hey!
So the answer to this question comes down to whether or not you need "full" control over your drum recordings. If you want to learn about the art of recording, you'll need to invest a bit more money, and go the traditional route. Mics, Interfaces, DAW, etc.
However, if you're goal is only to create content for fun, or personal enjoyment, (or even simply monitoring as you mentioned) you can save a lot of money and headache by going with the EAD10! It's a killer unit, and will undoubtedly give you a useable drum sound that you can monitor.
But if you're really looking to learn the art of recording a drum set, and control your recorded sound, I would recommend investing in more of the long term tools that you'll find in a recording studio. Hope this is helpful
